STREET ART IN SAINT MICHAN’S PARK
Located on the north side of the Liffey on the site of the old Newgate prison, St. Michan’s was one of the smallest parks to be created in Victorian Dublin. It was named after the Catholic church of St. Michan’s immediately to its west which dates to 1811 and is not to be confused with the older St. Michan’s (Church of Ireland) further to the west. However, the manner in which Dublin Corporation laid out the park gave it a strong resonance with that church too.
